The Dusty Bird
Logo and branding concept for an Etsy-based shop owner who curates vintage finds for resale. Using inspiration the client provided as reference, I created a story behind the name, curated the brand moodboard, digitally illustrated the mark, designed the logo and curated a color palette around the requested blush pink.

The inspiration for the bird in the illustration was based off the Purple Martin. Putting up houses for this species used to be so common that John James Audubon - an ornithologist known for his paintings of birds - used the presence of Martin houses to choose his lodgings for the night. In 1831, he noted, “Almost every country tavern has a martin box on the upper part of its sign-board; and I have observed that the handsomer the box, the better does the inn generally prove to be.”
